Ultrasite®
A Capless, Positive-Pressure, IV Access Device

The ULTRASITE valve is a normally closed valve with female and male Luer lock connections. When accessed with any male Luer lock fitting, such as a syringe or IV adapter, the valve opens and allows bi-directional flow. The valve automatically closes when the male Luer is removed, preventing fluid back flow. A simple alcohol swab cleans the valve connection before each procedure.

Ultrasite Positive Displacement Needleless Connector

The ULTRASITE valve meets a variety of directives designed to reduce the potential for inadvertent needlesticks in healthcare settings. A passive system, the ULTRASITE valve cannot use needles, nor does it require additional components or steps to engage the safety feature. B. Braun, a leader in developing medical devices that offer sharps protection, pioneered the development of needle-free IV line access in 1989 with the SAFSITE® valve.
CMS-862
